For this assignment, I wanted to shoot black and white. I have some friends that own a farm so I asked them if I could do the assignment in their woods. I took a pumpkin with me as a prop that I could use in this assignment. I had a great experience doing this assignment. I shot in the morning, so the shadows were very defined in my photos. In this shoot, I learned how to edit black and white photos to make them look better. For this photo, I brought up the contrast, increase the tone of the white, and decreased the tone of the black.

The reason we did this assignment was to learn a little bit about how to retouch and photoshop photos. I now know how to use the basic tools in photoshop.
For this shoot, I went out and shot pictures of my dogs and my neighbors dogs. At first, I had trouble deciding where to shoot because I had just rained a lot and my whole yard was wet but then it started to dry up and I was able to get a good amount of light at an ISO of 100. Doing this shoot, I learned how to use a good ISO so that the picture doesn't look grainy. For this photo, I added a little vibrance and turned up the contrast and slightly adjusted the highlights and shadows.
In this assignment, I took a picture of myself, put it in black and white, and the changed the color of the photo 4 times in photoshop to make popart. By doing this assignment, I learned how to use some tools in photoshop as well as how to make popart effectively and I explored the aspects of popart.
This weekend, I went out to get pictures of nature. I sometimes had a hard time with the shutter speed and the low exposure but I adjusted the aperture to fix it. Doing this shoot helped me learn about how to use aperture. I edited this photo by turning up the temperature, turning down the exposure, and turning up contrast and saturation.
We were sent out to showcase the 11 elements of composition in 11 photos. The elements of composition are color, balance, perspective, pattern, symmetry, texture, space, framing, rule of thirds, depth of view, and lines. Doing this project, I learned not only the elements of composition and how to take pictures of them, I also learned how to be a better photographer in general. I learned how the slightest angle movement can change the way the picture looks dramatically. Now, I also walk around, thinking how I could make take a good picture.
